Teacher Tube Video
Below is the link for video I chose from Teacher Tube. The video I chose was about the American Revolutionary War. I have always enjoyed history, but when I was in high school I didn't have the most exciting history teacher. He did some really good things, but there were subjects that were a little boring. I thought this video demonstrated a great way to teach the American Revolutionary War. It had great information and wonderful pictures to go along with it. It also allowed included a bit of a quiz or questions the students needed to answer. I really enjoyed it and thought it was put together well.

Week Three Movie
I realize this is sort of cheesy, but it gave my wife and I a good chuckle. I hope you laugh as hard as she did when she saw the final project.

Strength Coach Podcast 1
As a P.E. teacher I decided to join a podcast called The Strength Coach. I chose this one because when I do teach High School P.E. classes I included a lot of strength training just because I feel that it is important that everyone understands at least a little bit about strength and weight training. I also help write our strength program for a football team and plan on getting certified as strength coach after I finish up my masters degree. The episode that I listened to talked about bringing TRX bands into your strength program and how they can boost gains. TRX bands hang from the ceiling or weight rack and allow the student-athlete to do basic body weight exercises at a more difficult level. One example would be push-ups. When completing push-ups on TRX bands you are required to balance your self better and you must use more stabilizer muscles to complete the activity. It also activates the core more then a normal push-up. Very good ideas and something I will look into for the school that I teach and coach at. They also discussed the importance of testing heart rates and the best way to reduce your heart rate after completing a difficult workout. I did not feel that this was a important topic when it came to training, but they believe that it is essential to get the heart back to normal in careful but fairly quick manner. Overall good podcast and a lot of helpful information.

Welcome All!
Hello everybody!
Welcome to my blog and thanks for checking it out. I am currently in my third year of being a Full-time sub. I do have my degree in K-12 Physical Education, just haven't had the best of luck finding a job. I honestly really enjoy subbing though. I get to teach new things and different students everyday which is difficult at times, but interesting as well. I am also a member of the football staff at the high school and excited for the season to start. Tomorrow night is our first game and I think the kids are ready to hit someone else for awhile. I am looking forward to learning more about you and learning from all of you throughout this course. Thank you for stopping by. Be sure to come back again.
Thanks
Aaron
